Here is the tutorial for beginners for using flashtool. Today i will tell you that how to flash  frimwares on your phone and how to flash kernels using flashtool.


First you have to download flashtool and install it on your computer or laptop.

Features: 

Flashtool is a pc program a bit like sonys pc updater except you can flash with abit more choice. you can use this program for flashing any stock offical sony ericsson software (FTF named files direct from sony ericsson offical flashing computer code named EMMA ) to all the 2011 sony ericsson range and some of Sonys 2012 range devices providing its the right software for the right device to do this your phone does not need to be unlocked in any way. It also enables you to flash any including previous versions of sony software over the version you have, you can flash these over custom roms too.

Flashmode:
1.) Flash any sony  firmware (FTF files).

2.) Flash sony offical kernels (SIN files) without flashing hole firmware.

3.) Flash different basebands (FTF files).

4.) Install different system apps along with firmware's.

5.) Auto root some device.

6.) Unbrick your device ( depends on the state of your handset damage ).

7.) Relock your bootloaders.

Fastmode:

1) Flash custom kernels (boot.IMG files).

2) Flash system images (system.IMG files).

Tutorial :

How to flash Firmware's using flashtool:

1.) You should have the firmware looking like this ("FIRMWARE_NAME.ftf").

2.) Now Copy your firmware and Go into the directory where flashtool has been installed
      (Eg. C:/Flashtool).

3.) Now find the folder named "firmwares" and Paste it there.

4.) Now Run installed Flashtool .

5.) Now Click Flash Icon and then Click on Flashmode ( as shown Below ) :

     

6.) Now you have to select your Firmware ( as shown below) :






7.)  Now Select  your firmware and verify that :
         
       Wipe data : Marked
       Wipe cache : Marked
       Rest all options should be unmarked.

8.) Now Click OK and Flashing will be start.

9.) It will ask for connecting Phone 



10.) Now Go to your Phone and Tap Settings>Security>Unknown Sources.

11.) Now Turn Off your Phone.

12.) After the phone get turned off then Hold Back Button and Connect your phone through USB cable.

13.) Now Flashing will start automatically and when finished remove your phone from computer.

Now you had learn that how to flash firmwares or the ftf files (Eg. ABCD.ftf) to your phone.


Now I will tell you that how to install specific kernels on your phone.

1.) Download the kernel which you want to flash.

2.) Kernel's are present in two formats :
                                                             ( i ) "ABCD.ftf"
                                                             ( ii ) "ABCD.img"
3.) For Flashing files like "ABCD.ftf" use the same process i told you above for flashing firmware's.

4.) Now How to flash files like "ABCD.img" .

5.) Run Flashtool and Now Go to your Phone and Tap Settings>Security>Unknown Sources.

6.) Turn Off your Phone , After the phone get turned off then Hold Back Button and Connect your phone through USB cable.

7.) Now  Click Flash Icon and then Click on Fastboot mode and Press OK ( as shown Below ) :


9.) Now Click " Select Kernel to Flash ".
10.) Select your kernel and Flashing will be started automatically.

11.) After Flashing completed Remove your Phone .

Now we have also learned that how to flash kernels using Flashtool.

Installation of Flashtool for Linux :

1.)  Unpack the tar.7z package.
2.)  Check that libusb-1.0 is installed. On 64bits system, both 64bit and 32bit should be installed.
3.)  Add these rules to /etc/udev :

SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ACTION=="add", SYSFS{idVendor}=="0fce", SYSFS{idProduct}=="*",        MODE="0777"
